Foot Fractures

Foot fractures can be due to gross trauma, but certain types of stress reactions and low-impact injuries that a patient does not even take note of at the time of occurrence can also occur.

A major difference in treating fracture successfully is an understanding of bone physiology. A fractured bone’s healing process cannot generally be accelerated, but it certainly can be slowed.

A specialist that knows when it is necessary, or even optimal, to anatomically reduce the fracture with surgery, or whether the use of a cast may do, is important.
